WASHINGTON — In the three years since the “decider” stopped inflicting his presidency upon the American people and the world due to the end of his second term, Bush junior has largely kept his inarticulate mouth shut in the political arena. He has spent his time mapping out his tax payer funded presidential library, playing Modern Warfare 3 on Xbox, hosting veterans wounded in his wars of aggression for Texas bicycle rides and very publicly pretending how glad he is to be out of the nation’s capital.
In fact, the 43rd president is “so glad” to be out of the nation’s capital that he snuck back in and is beginning to insert his voice again “into the national dialogue”. On Tuesday, he returned to the scene of the crime, making a rare return to Washington ostensibly to promote “freedom overseas”.

"Freedom Overseas" does not include the freedom of "insurgents" to defend themselves against U.S. aggression and occupation in their homeland.
At a staged political/public relations circus side show event less than two blocks from the White House, the former “decider” gathered a number of former co-conspirators and human rights leaders to unveil his magnum opus “Freedom Collection” sponsored by his public policy institute, “an assemblage of interviews with dissidents who took on autocratic regimes”. As I ponder the absurdity of Bush’s involvement with this project, I can’t help but wonder if “Freedom fries” were served at the event… The real purpose of this clever public relations charade is to give his regime cover from scrutiny by distracting the public from real crimes and abuses of his administration with the sacrifices of other people in their legitimate fight for freedom. In other words, this is an elaborate DIM (Dubya Image Management) operation. The irony is the extent to which this project which celebrates the stories of individuals who fought the good fight against “autocratic regimes”, yet ignores the authoritarianism and autocratic tendencies of this government which were only worsened if not initiated by George W. Bush.
My criticism is not in any way to diminish the project’s assemblage of interviewees or participating dissident’s stories or accomplishments, but rather the character and disingenuous motivations of the man behind it. However, I can’t help but be impressed by this Orwellian propaganda effort. Certainly Bush wants to influence public opinion to “protect his legacy” i.e., maintain the mythology of his administration as an assemblage of selfless, virtuous paladins fighting for freedom, while diverting attention from the catastrophic damage he and his minions inflicted upon the relative freedom of Americans. Just consider the mark that the “freedom fighter” Bush left on air travel; hardly an example of progress in the freedom movement but I digress. I believe that most of all George W. Bush would like to avoid any serious scrutiny or accountability for his actions, crimes against the constitution and humanity during his presidency; crimes that the United States executed people for following World War II.
“We believe that freedom yields peace and therefore we believe it’s in our nation’s interest to stand side by side with dissidents, political prisoners, courageous folks who demand their God-given right.” –George W. Bush
****Unspoken disclaimer: unless of course the “dissidents, political prisoners and couragious folks” are inconvenient to the political elite or demanding their “God given right” from the U.S. government.
A brief summary of George W. Bush’s contributions to “Freedom”:
1) “Free speech zones”
2) “Enhanced interrogation” a euphemism for torture, such as water boarding.
3) Invasion & occupation of Afghanistan a nation who never attacked the U.S., had nothing to do with the September 11, 2001 terror attacks, but who had the audacity to ask for “evidence” of Osama Bin Laden’s complicity in the attacks, (which did not exist) instead of just handing him over because the U.S. demanded it.
4) “Preemptive” invasion & occupation of Iraq, a nation that never lifted a finger against the U.S.
5) Nationalization of airport security & creation of the insidious TSA, which continues to inflict police state security on air travelers, treats everyone like criminals, while harassing, fondeling and exposing them to radiation.
6) Creation of the Hitlerian Department of Homeland Security as the umbrella bureaucracy under which to consolidate existing and newly created unconstitutional alphabet soup internal security/police state agencies.
